Rogers Pope Receives 100% Score from Louisiana Family Forum

Local Republican to Receive Award at Sept. 26 Gala

DENHAM SPRINGS, La. – The Louisiana Family Forum, a leading pro-life and pro-family organization, announced that State Rep. Rogers Pope, R-Denham Springs, will be honored for his 100% scorecard of voting for pro-family values of life, liberty and limited government during the 2019 Legislative Session.

Pope will receive the Patrick Henry Outstanding Family Advocate Award during the Louisiana Family Forum’s Gala on Sept. 26 at Healing Place Church in Baton Rouge.

This year’s honor marks the 12th consecutive year for Pope to be honored for his strong conservative vote for pro-life and pro-family issues.

“I can think of no other issue that is more important than protecting the life and sanctity or our children and our families, and to protect our constitutional rights as citizens,” Pope said.

Pope is seeking election as State Senator in District 13, in the Oct. 12, 2019 primary election, to fill the seat previously occupied by Sen. Dale Erdey of Livingston, who could not seek re-election because of term limits. Senate District 13 includes most of Livingston Parish, the eastern part of Central in East Baton Rouge Parish and the western-most outlying area of Ponchatoula in Tangipahoa Parish.

Pope has served 12 years as the State Representative for House District 71, which covers part of Livingston Parish.  He has served on the House Appropriations Committee, Health & Welfare Committee, Legislative Committee on the Budget, Transportation Committee, and Retirement Committee.

“I want to use my experience and knowledge of the legislative process to be an effective leader in the State Senate for the people of District 13,” Pope said.
